French Connection kidswear set to go global

French Connection kidswear is set for international expansion after being licenced out to supplier Flyers Group.

Flyers Group, which has kidswear brands including Ben Sherman, Firetrap and Sugar Pink as part of its portfolio, has added the worldwide licence for French Connection to its stable with immediate effect.

Flyers will deliver the autumn 12 collection and then develop the spring 13 range in coordination with the French Connection design team.

Flyers sales director Richard Farrow told Drapers the company would look to expand French Connection kidswear internationally. It currently distributes in South Africa and the US, but the brand is to launch in Australia, Canada and Europe, as well as growing its footprint in the US.

“We have offices in Spain and an office in New York. We will [expand] through our offices and in specific areas through agents,” said Farrow.

In the UK Flyers will add French Connection’s existing distribution network to its portfolio of stockists including Selfridges and John Lewis.
