French Connection is reintroducing its controversial FCUK slogan T-shirts for spring 16.

The T-shirts – which carried slogans such as “Too busy to FCUK” and “Cool as FCUK” – were largely credited with fuelling the brand’s growth in the 1990s.
The new range of five T-shirts will launch into stores in early to mid-February, priced at around £20, and will be available for short-order wholesale delivery. Wholesale prices are yet to be confirmed, and images are not yet available.
“We feel that this season is the right time to reintroduce FCUK as a celebration of our brand heritage,” said chief executive Stephen Marks.
The T-shirts form part of a wider, 1990s-inspired spring 16 campaign, which includes references to iconic styles such as the sequin dress worn by Kelly MacDonald’s character Diane in the film Trainspotting.
Marks said: “Our spring/summer advertising campaign pays homage to the 1990s. Photographed by Harley Weir, the images create a nostalgic tribute to fashion, photography, music and the talent that emerged from this era.”
French Connection has 59 UK stores and four in the US. The group, which comprises French Connection and smaller businesses Toast, Great Plains and YMC, recorded a marginal 0.2% rise in group like-for-like sales for the 16 weeks to November 21 2015.
