French Connection boss Stephen Marks hired Mary Portas’s Yellow Door agency three seasons ago to revive the brand after a backlash against its overused FCUK logos. She ditched the slogan to focus on more upmarket, product-led imagery.
It is believed that the high street retailer will continue to work with Portas’s agency, but the details of the arrangement are not known.
A French Connection spokeswoman would not confirm the appointment of Baron & Baron, but said that the contract with Yellow Door was still in place. “We work on a project-by-project basis so the contract has not ended,” she said.
