Footshop, the owner of website Lookatmycrazyshoes.com, has put its kids’ footwear etail business Funkylittlefeet.com up for sale.
The business has been put on the market a year after Footshop bought it. A sale will enable Footshop to focus on its other interests and build on its third-party web design and web fulfilment operation.
Footshop marketing director Robin Beech said the company would focus on its other four etail businesses – Lookatmycrazyshoes.com, Walktall.co.uk, Cosyfeet.com and Healthyshoes.co.uk, as well as a new web design and hosting service.
“We want to concentrate on the core business,” he said.
Earlier this year Footshop set up a website for footwear brand Terra Plana, operating on a fee-per-sale basis. Footshop receives a negotiated cut of every transaction made in the UK or Europe and a 10% cut from US-based transactions. Footshop said it was looking to roll out the service to other footwear brands and retailers.
Beech said the business was in talks with men’s footwear brand John White and had inked a deal with women’s footwear brand United Nude to create its website. “We understand footwear retailers and are working with brands we think have big potential,” he said.
