Premium Italian accessories brand Furla sales increased by 28% to (€194m) £164.1m for the first half of 2016, building on last year’s record revenue and profits.
The brand is sold in more than 100 countries and said it enjoyed strong growth (+22-34%) in every region where it is present. Japan is its strongest market, accounting for 26% of global sales. Revenue has increased by 30% in Japan in 2016, and grew by the same amount in the US.
Furla recently opened stores in locations including London’s Brompton Road and the Citic Mall in Shanghai. It now has 425 standalone stores worldwide – up from 415 at the end of 2015. The money generated by the increased sales is to be invested in marketing and growing new ecommerce markets.
