Shop Direct’s group product director Matt Dixon and group fashion director Zoe Matthews are leaving the business, in the latest wave of senior departures at the etailer.
Dixon, who joined Shop Direct in 2010 as trading director, is leaving on 6 April to “take some time out with his family” before exploring new opportunities.
The group product director role, which he was appointed to in 2013, is an executive board position. Current group merchandising director Sam Perkins is taking on the position.
Perkins joined Shop Direct from Tesco in 2015, where he held several roles including UK commercial director for one-stop stores for two years from 2013. He had joined Tesco as confectionary senior buying manager in 2007.
Group fashion director Matthews is leaving the company this summer. She will be joining Asda’s George as its new vice-president. Shop Direct is now recruiting for a new group fashion director.
During her time at Shop Direct, Matthews refocused the group’s fashion brand portfolio towards high street brands such as River Island and Mango, as well as premium labels including Ted Baker and Karen Millen. She also led the consolidation of own label fashion brands into a single hero brand, V By Very.

“I’d also like to thank Zoe for her contribution to the business, which has helped to define our high quality clothing and footwear offering across both branded and own brand. When it comes time to say goodbye in the summer, we’ll wish her every success in her new role.”
There has been a raft of changes among the top team at Shop Direct. Drapers revealed in January that Shop Direct’s chief information officer Andy Wolfe and head of digital transformation Paul Hornby are leaving the business, with Hornby leaving last month to join Matalan and Wolfe departing in the summer.
Chief executive Alex Baldock left in January to join Dixons Carphone as its new chief executive. Both Very Exclusive boss Sarah Curran and Shop Direct’s group ecommerce director Jonathan Wall left last summer.
Drapers also revealed in December that Shop Direct made an undisclosed number of redundancies as part of a wider restructuring.
In the same month, Drapers learned that group marketing director Kenyatte Nelson was leaving the etailer to take up the chief customer role at Missguided.
Missguided also hired former Shop Direct deputy chief executive Gareth Jones as CEO of online in September as well as Wall, who took up the role of chief digital officer at Missguided in October.
