Galliano fined for misusing ad photographs

Designer John Galliano has been ordered by a French court to pay EUR200,000 (£136,000) in damages for unauthorised use of images belonging to US photographer William Klein. The images were used in an ad campaign, which ran in a number of fashion magazines. Galliano has been told to pay EUR150,000 (£102,000) for abusing Klein's authorial rights and EUR50,000 (£34,000) in damages due to the original work being poorly reproduced in the adverts.
