Lifestyle retailer Gant has opened a concept store on London’s Regent Street, which will be its global flagship.
The 5,177 sq ft store opened on 10 November, and is set across two floors, with men’s and women’s wear displayed together. The Gant sub-brands of Rugger, original and Diamond G are all stocked in the store, which is also the first and only location to stock the full House of Gant collection.
The store is located across the road from Gant’s previous store on Regent Street, now closed, and is based around the retailer’s concept of “never stop learning”, with digital screens dotted around the space to link the online and in store experiences together.
Patrik Nilsson, Gant’s chief executive officer, told Drapers that the new concept was designed as more than just a place to shop. “We don’t look at the store of the future as a place that’s open between 10am and 6pm, it needs to be living 24/7,” he said. “There needs to be speakers, engagements at night, things happening all the time.”
All new stores for the brand are set to open with this concept, and 150 others will be refurbished. Gant currently has 750 stores worldwide, 19 in the UK, including outlets, and a presence in 70 markets worldwide.
