Swedish lifestyle brand Gant has promoted head of design Christopher Bastin to creative director.
Bastin, who joined Gant in 2005 as lead shirt designer, will start his new role on August 1. In his seven years at the brand, Bastin established the Gant historical archive and in 2009 helped relaunch Gant’s Rugger label, becoming head of design for the line.
In his new role Bastin will be responsible for providing direction and inspiration across all collections. He will also collaborate on marketing and pr and will support licensed product extensions.
Bob Andrews, who has been creative director at the brand for more than two years, will step down from the role on July 31.
Bastin said: “As part of the Gant team, I have been lucky to experience many company milestones throughout the years. I hope to build upon these successes as we develop the Gant brand and our collections towards ever higher levels of desirability.”
