Gant to launch designer tie up with Michael Bastian

Gant has teamed up with designer Michael Bastian to launch a collection for autumn 2010.

The 50-piece Michael Bastian for Gant range will be sold at Gant stores next July across key markets including Europe and the US, and will also launch at wholesale, according to reports.

The collection, which will be priced up to 20% higher than the Gant mainline will include tailored jackets, trousers, outerwear, jeans, woven shirts, knitwear and accessories.

Michael Bastian for Gant is understood to be based on the fit of Gant’s Rugger line, and designs from Gant’s archives.

Bastian launched his label in 2006 and was nominated for the Council of Fashion Designers of America Menswear Designer of the Year award in both 2008 and 2009.

Gant has around 500 standalone stores in 70 countries.
