Geoffroy van Raemdonck has taken up the role of Ralph Lauren group president, Europe, effective immediately.

Van Raemdonck was most recently chief executive of US women’s knitwear brand St John Knits and was previously president of Louis Vuitton, South Europe.

He succeeds John Hooks, who has held the position for the last three years. Hooks’ future plans have not been confirmed.

Chairman and chief executive Ralph Lauren said: “John’s leadership has been central to the success of our business in Europe and I want to thank him for his dedication and commitment in supporting the growth of our brand within the region.

“Geoffroy is an exceptionally skilled executive with an outstanding business track record. It’s clear that his extensive experience and knowledge of the European markets will be an important factor in driving our global business in this region.”
