German denim brand Mustang is poised to make its debut in the UK, with its first deliveries scheduled for June.
The brand hopes to acquire about 20 quality independent accounts and one department store outlet for autumn 07. In the long term it aims to have 200 independent accounts and one or two department store groups.
A spokeswoman for Mustang said: "The brand is ready for the UK - the product is right and the support and service sets it apart from its competitors. It has a point of difference in the way it approaches the market. It is consumer-driven and focused on pushing sell-through."
The brand has monthly deliveries, runs a never-out-of-stock service and offers full PoS support. It has also expanded its premium range to include organic denim and raw denim made with Tencel.
The 200-piece range will be priced at between £5 and £44.
The launch will be backed by an advertising campaign in glossy magazines and weekend broadsheet newspaper supplements. Its UK agent is Subranded.
Founded in 1948, the brand claims to have created the first jeans to be mass-produced outside the US.
