Middle market german brand Gerry Weber has announced record-breaking results for the third quarter of its financial year.
The company, which sells menswear and womenswear reported a 12.5% increase in group sales between May and July 2007, while orders for the Gerry Weber brand grew by 17.4% to €144 million (£100m) - the highest increase in the company's history.
The Gerry Weber brand accounts now for €217.6m (£152m) or 73.3% of total group sales.
The strongest sales growth came from the retail business, which increased by 35.8% during the period.
Earnings before taxation were up 24.8% on the previous year, rising to €23.8m (£16.60) from €19.1m (£13.3m).
The company expects to double its sales over the next five years and there are plans to expand the House of Gerry Weber store portfolio to between 300 and 400, including openings in the UK.
