Gerry Weber drops Talkabout brand

Gerry Weber has announced its most recently launched label, Talkabout, will be discontinued.

The womenswear brand launched in 2016 as a wholesale-only label.

It has 170 stockists across countries in Europe including Germany, Austria, Budapest and Prague.

Talkabout will be closed to allow the German fashion group to focus on its core brands, Gerry Webber, Taiffun, Samoon and Hallhuber.

CEO designate at Gerry Weber, Johannes Ehling, said: “In view of economic challenges facing our company, we are pooling our forces and will focus on our core business to be successful in the long term.”

Employees have been notified and the majority will be integrated within the company.

The last collection will be delivered in February 2019.
