Gestuz hires new designer

Contemporary Danish womenswear brand Gestuz has appointed former Preen design assistant Arina Woron as designer for the brand.

Woron’s first collection for the brand will be spring 12, with designs said to be “raw and edgy yet also feminine and classic”.

She has previously held roles at designer label Preen and contemporary womenswear label Day Birger et Mikkelsen.

Gestuz chief executive officer Sanne Sehested Nielsen said: “We decided to hire Arina Woron as she is able to communicate thought into reality. What separates her from many others designers is her ability make high fashion pieces which are still commercial.”

Gestuz is sold in 750 stores across more than 25 countries. In the UK stockists include Selfridges, House of Fraser and Asos.
