Get the Label launches shoppable app

Get the Label, the JD Sports Fashion-owned discount branded fashion and sportswear retailer, has launched a transactional app as part of its focus on developing a mobile strategy.

Available on iOS devices including iPhone and iPad, users are able to browse and securely buy from the full Get the Label range, which includes brands such as Nike, Levi’s, Ugg and Little Mistress.

The app, produced by multichannel retail technology business One Iota, is expected to deliver sales growth in the run up to Christmas.

Launched in 2009, Get the Label is a division of Topgrade Sportswear, which has an annual turnover of £32.7m.

Get the Label’s finance director Helen Heaton said “Over the last few months we have seen a significant increase in shoppers using mobile devices to make online purchases, and our app will allow us to take advantage of the rapid market shift to mobile commerce.”

One Iota chief executive Damian Hanson added: “As retail website visits on mobile devices overtake desktop traffic for the first time [according to IMRG], it is critical that retailers have the capability for customers to shop on any device, at anytime and anywhere.”
