Get up to speed with the multichannel evolution

Keely Stocker

Welcome to the second edition of Drapers’ Multichannel Report, where we investigate the latest innovation and inspiration in the world of multichannel retail.

In this issue we look at the constantly debated topic of social media. What platforms are retailers using? Can these social environments ever be a place for retailers to make sales? Many retailers are now looking at newer platforms such as Pinterest as a visually inspiring tool to interact with customers, as well as Instagram, which will be watched closely over the next 12 months after being bought by Facebook.

To best utilise these new platforms, the right people must be responsible for the strategy behind these initiatives. Roles are rapidly changing – positions that were once in-store or online focused are now merging to become as multichannel as the business. House of Fraser’s Robin Terrell has seen this shift, and talks exclusively to Drapers about the dramatic pace at which the industry is changing and how to overcome challenges in this dynamic sector.
