Gianfranco Ferre ceo resigns

Michela Piva, chief executive officer of Italian fashion house Gianfranco Ferre, has resigned from her position after four years in the role.

According to reports the luxury label has undergone a large degree of change over the last last creative directors Tommaso Aquilano and Roberto Rimondi leaving the brand in April, and the subsequent departures of the brand’s commercial director and director of communication.

Piva joined Gianfranco Ferre in 2003 and became chief executive officer in 2007 and continued to manage the company as it was acquired by Dubai-based retail group the Paris Group.

At the brand’s spring 12 Milan show president Ahmed Sankari said: “I wanted to re-connect with the brand’s DNA by giving the artistic directorship to two of the house’s own designers – Stefano Citron and Federico Piaggi, who were part of the very first Gianfranco Ferre team.”
