Gieves & Hawkes’ Henderson joins mannequin manufacturer

Gieves & Hawkes’ chairman Mark Henderson will join mannequin manufacturer and supplier Proportion London in the same role on September 1.

It comes weeks after sales director Antonia D’Marco and creative director Tanya Reynolds completed a management buyout of the mannequin firm.

Proportion London produces bespoke fibreglass and papier-mâché mannequins from a 50,000 sq ft factory in north London. Its clients include Marks & Spencer, Ted Baker, All Saints, Chloé and Paul Smith.

Henderson was chief executive of Gieves & Hawkes from 1996 to 2009 and has been chairman since July 2012 – a position he will retain.

He is also co-founder of The New Craftsmen, an organisation representing more than 75 UK craft specialists and makers.

Proportion’s outgoing chairman, Keith Fox, will continue as managing director.
