Givenchy appoints Clare Waight Keller as artistic director

Givenchy has appointed former Chloé creative director Clare Waight Keller as its new artistic director, replacing Riccardo Tisci.

Tischi left Givenchy at the end of January after 12 years, amid speculation that he is heading to Versace.

At around the same time, Chloé confirmed that Keller would leave after its autumn 17 show at Paris Fashion Week earlier this month.

Keller had been creative director of the fashion house since 2011.

She studied an MA in fashion knitwear at the Royal College of Art in London, after obtaining a BA in fashion at Ravensbourne College of Art.

In her early career she worked in the US, gaining experience at Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren Purple Label.

After returning to London in 2001, Keller became a head designer at Gucci under Tom Ford. In 2005, she moved to Pringle of Scotland, where she stayed until joining Chloé.
