Givenchy poaches boss from John Galliano

LVMH, the luxury goods group, has appointed Fabrizio Malverdi as chief executive of Givenchy.

Malverdi joins Givenchy from John Galliano, and takes over from Marco Gobbetti, who has been promoted chairman and chief executive of LVMH's luxury ready-to-wear label Celine.

Malverdi will report to Pierre-Yves Roussel, chief executive of LVMH's fashion division.
