Graduate designers to show at Clothes Show Live

Emerging graduate designers will display and sell their collections in the Graduate Asos Marketplace at this year’s Clothes Show Live.

Womenswear designers Emma Box, Faye Fraser, Jessica Shaw and Maria Moderna and accessories designers Emma English and Nancy Smith are among the designers who will showcase their collections at the event in December.

The designers were chosen as part of a competition in which applications were open to graduate designers who completed their course between May 2009 and May 2012.

The Clothes Show Live, which will run from December 7 to 11 at the NEC in Birmingham, will host an area for the up and coming designers at the Vision Village area of the show. The designers will also be able to sell their collections in their own boutique through the Asos Marketplace from January 2013.

Maryam Hamizadeh, show producer for Clothes Show Live, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to be supporting these exceptional young designers at Clothes Show Live this year. We were blown away by the standard of entries we received, but the 10 that we selected were standout applicants.”

She added: “We’re dedicated to seeking out and advocating new British fashion talent at Clothes Show Live and this is just one of the many ways that we are doing this. Our Style Studio will offer expert advice to anyone with an interest in breaking into the fashion industry, and the line-up this year is exceptional.”

The five day event comprises catwalk shows and shopping, showcasing a range of brands from high street labels to independent designers.
