Greenwoods menswear to roll out Bosideng stores in UK in Chinese joint venture

Menswear chain Greenwoods plans to open up to 100 UK stores under the Bosideng fascia after the Chinese retailer and manufacturer Bosideng International bought a 50% stake in the company.

Greenwoods, a subsidiary of Hanson Partners, plans to open 100 stores in the UK over the next five years. They are planned to open mainly in the south of England with the first 20 to open by August next year.

Chairman of Hanson Partners, John Hanson said: "I have known the Gao family [which runs Bosideng] for over five years sand believe that they are an outstanding partner to help our group expansion. Their product quality is excellent, development of new product is coming on strongly and the calibre of their staff and commitment to this project are second to one."

Bosideng has 8,000 stores and a turnover of around 26 billion yuan (£2.2bn).
