Gucci to launch heritage ad campaign and live stream catwalk

Gucci will unveil a new ad campaign on Saturday to coincide with its Milan Fashion Week show, which will be live streamed via its Facebook page.

Gucci’s new campaign, which was designed to celebrate the company’s 90th anniversary this year, will break in international newspapers on Saturday.

The advertisements play on the brand’s heritage with images of workers in Gucci’s Florentine factory in the 1950s. The pictures, taken from Gucci’s archive, emphasise the history of the brand and the detailed craft that goes into their leather goods, while the strapline “Forever Now” positions it as a company that remains relevant today and into the future.

Gucci, which shows its autumn 10 collection at Milan Fashion Week on Saturday, has also announced that it will live stream its show via the company Facebook page at The show can also be watched on Gucci’s iPhone application.

The company will also use Twitter to update followers on key moments from the catwalk show as it happens.

Milan Fashion Week will run from February 24 to March 3.
