London Fashion Week designer Marios Schwab has been appointed creative director at designer brand Halston.
Marios Schwab will replace Marco Zanini, who left the business last year after just two seasons at the helm.
Schwab will start his new job on July 1. According to reports he will also work on a new collection called Halston Heritage, which will redevelop pieces from the Halston archive.
Halston also plans to launch a transactional website.
Halston chief executive Bonnie Takhar told WWD.com it was Schwabs’ spring 09 show at London Fashion Week which caught her eye. “The silhouettes were very fluid, and we thought they had a very modern Halston interpretation.”
Schwab completed an MA course at Central Saint Martins. He worked for the designer Kim Jones, on Jones’ womenswear label, before starting his own business.
