Hardy Amies signs Asia deals

Hardy Amies has signed new licensing deals with Japanese companies for the next three years.

The deals will earn at least £850,000 a year in income. The tailoring brand has also signed a joint venture agreement with retailer Aussino Group to establish the Hardy Amies brand in China. The UK company will invest £500,000 in the venture. The first of four stores there is expected to open in the country in 2008.

Hardy Amies opened its first ready to wear store this week in Edinburgh. The 1,500 sq ft store opened at 80 George Street, with a store fit based on a "bachelor's modern warehouse apartment", according to the company.
