Harrods named best consumer retailer in Glassdoor employer list

Harrods has been named the top consumer retailer in Glassdoor’s list of the UK’s best places to work 2017.

Travel booking site Expedia is listed as the best place to work, while Harrods is placed at number 29, followed by John Lewis at number 33. Waitrose is number 36, Apple at 41 and J Sainsbury at 45.

”This is a wonderful reflection not only of the positive feedback shared by our employees about their experience of working at Harrods, but also a testament to the rewarding careers offered in the UK retail industry,” said managing director Michael Ward.

“The retail industry offers employees the chance for a varied and fast-paced role while also providing real opportunities for progression and growth, and we are proud that our employees agree.”

The list is compiled using feedback from UK employees on their jobs, work environments and companies via Glassdoor between 2 November 2015 and 30 October 2016. Companies must have at least 1,000 employees and have received at least 30 company reviews from UK-based employees during the period to be included.
