Harrods unveils new young designers

Harrods has unveiled its latest young designer collections as the department store promotes young talent for a second season.

Womenswear designers J JS Lee, Nicole Murray, Hasan Hejazi and menswear label Baartmans and Siegel will make their retail debut from July with their autumn 11 collection in Harrods.

Harrods fashion and buying director Marigay McKee, said: “There is never a shortage of design talent in London, but it is often a challenge for emerging designers to start off in the business. Nurturing and promoting young talent is crucial to the future of British fashion. I am thrilled that the second season of this exciting initiative will allow Harrods to continue to build on our offering of young designers, recognising new stars and giving them a global platform to launch their careers.”

Last month Harrods was sold to the Qatari Royal Family for around £1.5bn. Egyptian tycoon Al Fayed owned the Knightsbridge landmark for 25 years since buying it in 1985.
