Harrods store image director Mark Briggs is set to follow in the footsteps of chief merchant Marigay McKee with a move to Saks Fifth Avenue.
Briggs, who has been with the luxury London store for more than 16 years and is known for spearheading some of the most eyecatching window displays, will join the US department store chain in the spring as chief marketing officer.
Harrods managing director Michael Ward said: “Mark, whose career at Harrods, which spans over 16 years, has helped support and develop the brand as we know it today.”
His move comes just weeks before former Harrods merchant McKee joins the American chain.
McKee, who had been at Harrods for 15 years and had been chief merchant since 2011, left the business in November. She takes up her new role as president of the US department store chain in January.
It is not yet known who Briggs’ replacement at Harrods will be. The luxury department store has carved the role vacated by McKee into two fashion director positions with Helen David becoming fashion director of womenswear, accessories, fine jewellery and kidswear while Jason Broderick holds the same role for menswear, sports and watches.
