Harvey Nichols opens Bristol store

Harvey Nichols opened its Bristol store in the new Cabot Circus shopping centre this afternoon.

The 35,000 sq ft Harvey Nichols store anchors the Quakers Friars part of the scheme and features a black chrome cut-out metal screen rising up through the store interior.

Along the lines of the boutique store format of the Harvey Nichols Dublin store, the Bristol shop sells edited collections from luxury fashion brands. It will be the department store's its first major presence in the West of England.

Following the circus theme of the development, the launch event featured entertainment from burlesque star Dita Von Teese, and Grant "Daddy G" Marshall from Bristol-founded band Massive Attack played a DJ set.

Harvey Nichols is also promoting the store with a special film starring animated characters Wallace and Gromit, the creation of Bristol-based Aardman Animations, in which the pair are given a fashion makeover.
