Harvey Nichols is expanding its international presence by opening a department store in the state of Qatar in Doha.
Having partnered with Qatari business group Saleh Al Hamad Al Mana, the retailer will open the 80,000 sq ft store in the first quarter of 2017.
The shop, located in shopping area Doha Festival City, will stock fashion, beauty, kidswear and homeware. It will be the retailer’s eighth store outside of the UK and Ireland. Other international locations include Hong Kong, Dubai, Riyadh, Turkey and Kuwait.
A sister company of Saleh Al Hamad Al Mana, Al Mana Luxury, operates boutiques for Hermès, Chloe, Giorgio Armani, Alexander McQueen and Stella McCartney.
Stacey Cartwright, group chief executive of Harvey Nichols, said: “Doha is an exciting market for Harvey Nichols due to the significant growth we are seeing in the country. Research tells us that our brand translates well in Qatar as well as with the Qatari customers when they shop in our home market. We look forward to offering Qataris the best shopping and dining experience when we open our doors for business.”
