Brazilian flip-flops brand Havaianas and iconic Wellington boot brand Hunter Boot are both poised to enter the UK retail market.
Havaianas, which has about 370 UK stockists including young fashion chain Bank and footwear retailer Office, will move into retail this year.
Havaianas UK country manager Richard Shetliffe said: “It’s based on the success we’ve had at our concession in the Shoe Galleries in Selfridges.” No target has been set for the number of potential stores.
Hunter Boot will open a pop-up shop in the second half of this year in London. Hunter Boot managing director Peter Taylor said it would allow the brand to showcase its full range. “It would be nice to be somewhere like Covent Garden or in the West End area,” he said.
Hunter Boot, which has 800 UK accounts, has extended its range to include a fashion-led leather collection for autumn 11 designed by footwear designer Jonathan Kelsey, featuring ballet pumps and knee-high leather boots. Wholesale prices are between £60 and £160.
Havaianas has launched Wellington boots for spring 11 in Selfridges and Office, and will open up the range to other stockists from autumn 11. The boots will wholesale for about £20.
