High street footfall continues to decline

Footfall across the UK declined by almost 1% year-on-year last week, according to latest figures from retail insight provider Springboard.

Latest data from the firm of footfall across the UK saw an 0.8% drop in activity across all destinations annually. Footfall on the high street fell by 1.4% compared to the same week last year.

High street footfall declined in every geography across the UK.

Shopping centres footfall dropped 1.8% compared to the same week last year, however retail parks were up 1.4%.
