H&M comparable sales slip 2% in September

H&M saw like-for-like sales slip 2% during September against a total sales rise of 10%.

H&M's September performance was marginally up on August when like-for-like sales fell back 3% and total sales rose 8%.

H&M had 1,659 stores at September 30 against 1,452 stores at September 30 2007.

Yesterday the British Retail Consortium said overall retail sales fell back 1.5% on a like for like basis in September. Within that fashion sales worsened against August.
