H&M first-quarter sales up 15% year on year

H&M Group’s sales including VAT rose 15% in local currencies in February, compared with the year before.

Sales in the first quarter, ending February 28, also increased by 15%.

Converted into Swedish Krona, total sales including VAT increased by 25% to SEK46.8bn (£3.6bn). Sales excluding VAT amounted to SEK40.3bn (£3bn).

The group, which comprises H&M, Cos, Monki, Weekday, Cheap Monday, & Other Stories and H&M Home, had 3,551 stores as of February 28, up from 3,192 on the same date in 2014.
