The H&M Group has reported that sales increased by 15% in local currencies in December, compared to the same month in 2013.
The total number of stores increased to 3,537 from 3,176 in December 2013. Of those, 235 are in the UK.
It comes as H&M has announced its first co-branded collection with the US-based Coachella Valley music and arts festival. The Swedish fast fashion retailer has sponsored the festival for the past five years and, this year, in addition to its sponsorship, has developed an official branded collection of merchandise that will be sold in stores and online.
The H&M loves Coachella collection will launch on March 19 in approximately 350 stores in North America and online, followed by a global launch on March 26.
The women’s collection includes graphic-printed tops, fringing, lace, crop tops, shorts and wide-legged pants with a bohemian feminine feel, priced from $4.95 (£3.25) to $49.95 (£32.95). The men’s collection includes graphic-printed T-shirts, and shorts.
