H&M records 3% uplift in like-for-like sales

H&M saw group sales in local currencies rise 15% and like-for-like sales rise 3% for the month of July.

H&M had 1,601 stores as of July 21, against 1,422 in July 2007, which helped it to put in a strong performance.

The results reflected an improved performance on June sales which grew overall by 8% but were down by 2% on a like for like basis.

H&M's sales for the year to date are up 17% with comparable sales up 5%.
