Swedish retail giant H&M has posted a 4% rise in local currency sales including VAT for May, down on 7% year-on-year growth in April.
A statement from H&M reads: “In the first half of the month sales were affected by tough market conditions in several countries. Sales improved considerably in the second half of the month.”
Second-quarter sales growth from 1 March to 31 May was 5%.
The total number of stores in the group was 4,498 on 31 May 2017, compared with 4,077 stores on 31 May 2016.
