H&M has signed a deal to open at the Swan shopping centre in Eastleigh, in Hampshire.
The deal is the largest investment in the scheme, which is operated by retail landlord Ellandi, since the leisure extension was completed seven years ago.
H&M has signed a 15-year lease for a 17,000 sq ft store. It has not been confirmed when it will open but the store will feature a double height glazed frontage and will create approximately 30 new jobs.
“This letting is a game changer for the scheme and the wider town, showing that with a bit of creative asset management, larger units can be created to attract major international brands to community shopping centres,” said Alex Brooker, asset management director at Ellandi.
Ellandi bought The Swan Centre through a joint venture with Tristan Capital Partners in 2013 and has since invested £3m in the scheme to create a new lift and staircase, among other things.
