HoF slims down senior buying team

House of Fraser has eliminated a senior level of buyers in its womenswear department as part of a swathe of job cuts.

Classic womenswear buyer Caroline Withey, contemporary buyer Sally Heath and young fashion buyer Yasmin Khan are understood to have left in the past few days. Khan, formerly known as Jaspal Billing, rejoined HoF last year after two years as head of womenswear at USC.

Womenswear director Katherine Horsfall left HoF in December. Her remit was taken over by June Lawler, who continues to oversee beauty and accessories.

It is believed the menswear team, headed by Allan Winstanley, was relatively unscathed at senior level, but lost two assistant merchandisers and one assistant buyer.

HoF began redundancy consultations in January, 12 weeks after its new owners took control. The 61-store group employed nearly 850 people at its head office.
