Fashion sales bounced back at John Lewis last week, rising 7.9% on the same period in 2015, as shoppers prepared for their summer holidays.

Within fashion, swimwear and nightwear were the star performers during the week to July 30, up 37.1% year on year.
Menswear also performed well, up 8.1% on 2015, and John Lewis own brand menswear was up 15.6%.
Total sales at the department store group were up 3.4% on last year to £76.62m.
