Hot Tuna hooks a sales rise

Sales at surf-inspired young fashion brand Hot Tuna have risen 31% for the six months ended December 3, with losses cut by 59% to £679,000 thanks to cost cutting at the group.

It has increased business with department store chain Debenhams, which has rolled out the brand from five to 45 of its stores as part of Hot Tuna’s strategy to shift its distribution away from smaller independents to major chains.

Hot Tuna said it had moved some of its sourcing to Turkey, which had enabled it to capitalise on shorter lead times and lower shipping costs.
