House of Fraser appoints new chief financial officer

House of Fraser has appointed Colin Elliot as its new chief financial officer from May 1.

The department store’s current finance boss, Mark Gifford, who has been with the business for eight years, will remain at HoF until the end of September in order to ensure a smooth transition.

Elliot will report to chief executive Nigel Oddy. He was most recently group finance director of hotel and leisure business De Vere Group and was previously chief financial officer of Malmaison Hotels, chief operating officer for Whitbread in its international hotels and restaurants division and finance director of Premier Inn.

Oddy said: “Colin brings a wealth of experience to the business as we continue our growth and expansion both in the UK and internationally. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Mark for his significant contribution to House of Fraser over the last 13 years.”
