House of Fraser hires IT director

Department store retailer House of Fraser has promoted Duncan Gray to the new role of IT director.

Gray was previously House of Fraser director of IT services and will be charged with leading all aspects of IT, development and support for House of Fraser as the department store chain strives to closer align its IT function with the rest of the business following a review of its IT operations.

Gray will report to chief financial officer Mark Gifford. Prior to working at House of Fraser Gray was UK IT director for blockbuster and gamestation.

Gray said: “Our aim is to be the UK and Ireland’s premium department store and we need to be at the top of our game. The changes to our IT department mean that House of Fraser will have a more competitive IT capability.”

Gifford added: “This role comes at a very exciting time for House of Fraser and our customers as we continue to improve our business. IT is an increasingly important part of retail and Duncan’s expertise and experience will be invaluable in driving the business forward.”
