House of Fraser merging online and store teams

House of Fraser is working to merge its in-store and online teams in its Marylebone, London, head office as part of its on-going omnichannel approach.

The department store is currently upskilling its head office team to allow them to work across both platforms, a process expected to be complete next month.

The restructure will see the business, which is owned by Chinese conglomerate Sanpower, move closer towards taking a single channel approach to sales.

House of Fraser has 59 UK stores and employs around 7,000 staff. No jobs will be lost as a result of the action.

In its results for the 13 weeks to May 2, sales excluding VAT at the department store chain were up 8.1% on a like-for-like basis.

Store like-for-like sales rose 3.1% against the same period in 2014, while online sales soared 40%.
