House of Fraser recruits ex-Asos chief information officer

House of Fraser has appointed former Asos chief information officer Pete Marsden as interim CIO following the surprise departure of Uday Kotla from the retailer after just four months in the role.

Marsden held the position at Asos from September 2012 until November 2014. He will now take over responsibility for aligning IT strategy and delivery at HoF and will report into chief executive Nigel Oddy and will work alongside Andy Harding, chief customer officer.

Kotla, who joined the department store group in April, stepped down from the role on Friday to pursue other career opportunities. Drapers understands it was a mutual decision.

A spokeswoman from House of Fraser said: “We wish Uday every success in the future and the very best of luck.”

Last week House of Fraser appointed former head of digital at the Ministry of Justice Mark Madden as director of digital products. He will also report into Harding.
