The House of Fraser website could be set to reopen next week after a deal was struck with its warehouse operator.
The website has been offline since 15 August, as a result of a dispute between House of Fraser’s new owner, Sports Direct, and warehouse operator XPO logistics. The Guardian reported that a deal has now been struck whereby one of HoF’s warehouses will close before Christmas.
The report of administrator EY showed XPO was owed £30.4m.
The website stopped accepting goods and processing deliveries for the retailer on 15 August. The following day HoF contacted shoppers to say it had cancelled all orders that had not yet been sent. The site reopened on 24 August, but closed again on 30 August as the dispute rumbled on.
XPO’s Milton Keynes warehouse will close in November with the loss of around 300 jobs. The warehouse in Wellingborough will remain open until at least March, but it is thought Sports Direct could be set to transfer all HoF orders to its Shirebrook warehouse in the future.
