Hucke brands will stay in UK

German brand house Hucke will continue to sell its brands in the UK following the acquisition of a raft of its brands by Indian investor Douceur.
Douceur has bought menswear brands Frank Eden and Bush, kidswear brands Steiff and Whoopi and womenswear brand Hucke Berlin.

Hucke’s London showroom, which is currently on Berners Street in central London, will relocate to a new West End location in time to sell for autumn 08. The menswear and kidswear brands will be sold from the London showroom, but Hucke Berlin will be sold through a yet-to-be-confirmed UK agent for autumn 08.

Menswear sales manager Klaus Blickmann said: “It will be business as usual for our menswear and kidswear customers and the investor will be looking to boost its brands.”

Hucke AG’s other assets have been broken up, with a management buyout at Frank Eden womenswear last summer
