Hudson adds women’s line

Directional men’s footwear brand Hudson has launched its debut women’s range for spring 09 with a small selection of trend-led styles.

The new designs will retain the brand’s strong androgynous styling, with 11 initial pieces including chunky knee-length biker boots in four options, buckled suede pixie boots and tasselled suede loafers.

Colours on boots range from bottle green and chocolate leather to grey and sand-washed suede.

Vicky Haddon, design director at Hudson, said inspiration for the women’s range came from female rock ’n’ roll stars. “The styles were inspired by icons such as Cat Power and Patti Smith, who epitomise the bohemian rock chick look – sexy with a masculine edge,” she said.

The materials used in the women’s range echo those of the directional H by Hudson men’s line, with dip-dyed uppers and leather soles, which according to Haddon have been designed to appeal to women who want to feel comfortable but still on trend.

Prices start at £32 for an ankle boot. Call 020 7729 2113 for more information.
