Hush Puppies to launch shoe design competition

Footwear brand Hush Puppies is launching a competition to find the next big thing in footwear design and the winning entrant will have their shoes put into production and then sold by high street retailer Schuh.

Anyone over the age of 16 can enter and the competition is open to budding men’s and women’s footwear designers.

Entries will be short-listed to 20 semi-finalists in July and the public will be invited to vote online for their favourite. In September five finalists willl be announced who will have access to a mentoring process with Hush Puppies’ in-house designers to refine their creations, ready to present their final designs to the judging panel in October.

The judging panel will include names from across the industry from Schuh buyer Nicky Shalcross to Hush Puppies managing director David Rist and celebrity stylist Rachel Fanconi.
